Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Iron Calc is offline-first: your training data never leaves your device. This policy explains the limited data the app handles.

Data you create (stored only on your device)

Your 1RM calculations, logged sets, personal records, plate inventory, and settings are saved locally on your device. We do not have a server, we do not have an account system, and we never receive, transmit, or have access to this data. Uninstalling the app or using “Clear all data” in Settings permanently removes it.

Optional reminder notifications (training reminders, step-goal nudges and a weekly recap) and the home-screen widget are generated entirely on your device from this local data; they do not transmit anything off the device.

Step data (Apple Health / Health Connect) — optional

If you choose to connect step tracking, the app asks for read-only access to your daily step count in Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android). It reads no other health data and never writes to Apple Health or Health Connect.

Step counts are used only to show your steps, step goal, streaks, Iron Points, badges and insights inside the app, and to personalise the on-device reminders above. Your step data:

Iron Points and badges are motivational only and have no cash value.

You can stop at any time: Settings → Steps & activity → Disconnect deletes the step history, points and badges stored by the app, and you can revoke access in the Health app (iOS) or Health Connect (Android).

Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics)

The app uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage (e.g. which screens are viewed and which features are used) so we can improve the app. Firebase may process:

This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally, and your training data (sets, PRs, weights) is never sent to Analytics. Processing is performed by Google. See firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Data collected by advertising (Google AdMob)

The app displays ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google’s SDK may collect and process:

This processing is performed by Google, not by us. In regions that require it (e.g. the EEA, UK), the app shows a consent prompt before personalized ads are served, using Google’s User Messaging Platform. On iOS, the app requests App Tracking Transparency permission. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how AdMob handles data.

Children

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
